Our specialty is assisting medium and small businesses in assessing and potentially establishing a presence and enter the Indonesian market. We also aim to introduce local products and services from Indonesia to the global market.
Based in Jakarta, Indonesia, our primary service is providing political and regulatory assessment for your company and the sector it is in. In a stable but very dynamic political environment, Indonesia can be disorienting for unfamiliar eyes, as regulations and political climate can change along the whims of individual politicians rather than political party platforms. It is in this aspect, we draw from our decades of experience as analysts and legal practitioners to help give you a sense of orientation to the Indonesian political environment.

Our Experience
Our roots and passion began with the academia and activism. Most of us are by training academics and researchers who aim to ask the right questions. And consequently strive to systematically answer those questions. Combined between our founders we have over thirty five years of experience as political analysts, university lecturers, and lawyers.
Our philosophy as in our namesake and logo is based on the big three philosophers (Socrates, Plato, and Aristotle). Their ideas and knowledge may be outdated and imperfect in light of modern knowledge. But by asking the right questions and attempting to answer it rigorously, their thoughts and ideas have become the building block of knowledge and progress.
That is the kind of research and consulting we strive to provide. Complete knowledge and oracle like predictions may be out of reach. What we offer though, are honest and thoughtful political and market assessments to build foundations for your business here.

Tobias Basuki's background is in research and academia. His analysis and commentaries had been featured on CNN, BBC, Al Jazeera, MSNBC, Channel News Asia, TRT World among other international news channels.

Tobias Basuki's background is in research and academia. His analysis and commentaries had been featured on CNN, BBC, Al Jazeera, MSNBC, Channel News Asia, TRT World among other international news channels.
Previously senior researcher at the Jakarta based Center for Strategic and International Relations (CSIS). Prior to that he was director of research at Institut Leimena. He had taught International Relations and Politics at Universitas Pelita Harapan.
His published writings can be found in the Jakarta Post, the Diplomat, the Conversation, the East Asia Forum amongst others He had previously consulted and conducted research for government agencies such as USAid, JICA, and the German Foreign Ministry.
He earned his graduate degree in Political Science from Northern Illinois University, DeKalb, Illinois and undergraduate degree in Computer Science from Goshen College, Goshen,, Indiana.

Gatot Goei is lawyer by training and profession. He is an advocate, involved in legal training, legal consultancy, and legislative drafting.
He began his career at the Jakarta Legal Aid Institute (LBH), rising to become the Head of Research and Development.

He began his career at the Jakarta Legal Aid Institute (LBH), rising to become the Head of Research and Development.
He is currently also deputy director at the Center for Detention Studies (CDS), focusing on research and advocacy for prison reform in Indonesia. His areas of expertise are human rights, particularly anti-torture, correctional systems reform, and preventing radicalism in prison.
He also runs his own law firm that conducts litigation, and provides legal services for a variety of clients.
Gatot holds a degree from the Faculty of Law at the University of Indonesia.

Ms. Chen earned her Master of International Law and Economics from University of Bern graduating Magna Cum Laude and Bachelors in International Relations for Pelita Harapan University.
Her professional experience include various business, corporate, and government affairs roles at GoTo group, Danone, and founding digital art and cultural endeavours. During her graduate study in Switzerland she interned at the World Trade Organization (WTO).
